Greetings, friends.

When exactly Jon, Ash, and I conspired to start a company devoted to making people awesome websites is lost deep in the history of several group chats, but what I can tell you for sure is this: On November 28, 2023, I’m sure immediately after we settled on our wonderful name, I registered the tigerpajamas.com domain, and shortly afterward I deployed a single page static site for it, one that looks very similar to what you see now.

It was important for us to immediately have a website for our new domain, since we are a website company. I wanted to do something special even for what was basically a placeholder page, and what quickly came together was a style themed around change: the colors and typefaces are never the same between visits, and might even surprise you if you look away for too long.

Websites have a reputation as old, outdated places on the Internet. The dilapidated tourist attractions on old Route 66 that gather dust while everyone zips by on their algorithmic superhighways. But all that need remain constant on a website is its address. Once you have staked out your plot of land on the World Wide Web, your real estate is yours to do with what you will. So do something great with it!

The three of us grew up with a wild, untamed internet, where every site was a portal into someone’s passions, fascinations, and idiosyncrasies, and the emergence of stylesheets enabled some truly wild visual design and layout. Admidst this precambrian explosion of digital space, best practices and standards accreted to aid with usability and accessibility, and once the venture capitalists figured out the profit centers online, the whole ecosystem tilted forever toward Platforms, and Profiles, and Templates, and everything started to take on the bland sameness of corporate sanitization.

But here’s the thing: the Wild Web of our childhood is STILL HERE, and there’s never been a better time to make your space online into a fun, inspiring, welcoming portal, for potential friends or customers or colleagues to step through. Web standards have kept up with the furious pace of technological change, and open social protocols have made it easier than ever to make your web presence dynamic and timely. The big guys are stumbling, and people are hungry for new ways to be online. We want to help people escape from gigantic platforms that exist only to show them ads, and to break ground on a true home on the Web, that they can tend to for decades to come.

Thanks for visiting our little home, and we hope you come back soon!
